Tockwotton Home is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization which provides the Rhode Island community with a variety of services designed to meet the changing needs of older adults and their families--including nursing home care and assisted living residences. Towards that end, we collaborate with others who share our vision.
Our mission is to enable older adults to enjoy life to the fullest and to share with families and friends the responsibility for their care. An essential part of our mission is to serve a broad spectrum of the community, including those whose financial resources are limited.
Tockwotton Home seeks to achieve a level of quality in everything we do which can serve as a model to the long-term care community. In our everyday business, the human dignity and quality of life of those we serve are our highest priorities.
Tockwotton Home values resident-directed care, focusing first on each individual’s unique personality and how they wish to live each day. We value elders, families and staff as integral team members working together to create a fulfilling and meaningful life for all. We value self-organized teams that decide among themselves the most appropriate individual and team responses to the needs and desires of elders. We value “home” as relating to each individual heart’s desire and strive to enable the choices and quality of life elders enjoyed in their own homes. Each is respected as an individual and shares in decision-making. We also value growth – in training (skills) and education (knowledge) as both a means and an end. These values and principles are an integral part of personal well-being and successful community membership at Tockwotton Home.
